Abstract

This study investigates teachers’ viewpoints about the transformational leadership adoption by directors of special education centers in Karak Governorate. The sample included all special education teachers (180) working in 29 private and public special education centers. To achieve the objectives of this study, a descriptive statistical analysis of data obtained by a transformational leadership scale prepared by the researcher was used. Means and standard deviations were calculated, followed by a two-way analysis of variance and Chafe test for post comparisons analysis. Results of the study revealed that the level of practicing transformational leadership by directors of special education centers was moderate and was in favor of directors with high academic qualifications and who had more than 10 years of experience. Interaction between academic qualifications and years of experience had no effect. Based upon results of the study, relevant recommendations were made.

Arabic Abstract الملخص باللغة العربية

هدفت هذه الدراسة على التعرف إلى درجة ممارسة القياده التحويلية لدى مديري مراكز التربية الخاصة في محافظة الكرك من وجهة نظر المعلمين، وتمثل مجتمع الدراسة بجميع معلمي مراكز التربية الخاصة في محافظة الكرك وعددهم (180) ممن يعملون في (29) مركز حكومي وخاص وخيري، حيث تم اختيار المجتمع الأصلي كاملاً، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، واستبانة القيادة التحويلية التي تم إعدادها لهذا الغرض، وللمعالجة الاحصائية استخدمت المتوسطات الحسابية والانحرافات المعيارية واختبار تحليل التباين الثنائي(Tow Way ANOVA) وشافيه للمقارنات البعدية. أظهرت النتائج أن مستوى القيادة التحويلية لدى مدراء مراكز التربية الخاصة كان متوسطاً، ووجود فروق في هذا المستوى تبعاً للمؤهل العلمي ولصالح ذوي المؤهل المرتفع، وكذلك لمستوى الخبرة لمن تزيد خبرتهم العملية عن عشر سنوات، وأظهرت النتائج عدم وجود تفاعل بين الخبرة والمؤهل. وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة تطوير مستوى القيادة التحويلية لدى المدراء العاملين بهذا المجال من خلال برامج تدريبية واثرائية.
