Abstract


The Role of Social Media in Shaping Political Awareness Among a Sample of Current and Graduate University Students in the United Arab Emiratesd

This study examines the impact of social media platforms on the political awareness among a sample of current and graduate university students in the UAE, including both current students and graduates. It aims to recognize the degree of political awareness of young people and the motivations for them to turn to social media platforms as a way of expressing their political views, as opposed to other methods, and the extent to which political beliefs spread across social media platforms influence the awareness of university youth, expand their political perception, and shape their political culture.
The current research is classified under the descriptive methodology, specifically the survey method. The questionnaire was the main tool for data collection in this research. It was prepared in the form of an electronic survey and distributed as a link to 100 students and graduates from the University of the United Arab Emirates, Al Ain University, and Zayed University from different specializations.
The present study concludes that social media plays an important role in creating conditions conducive to the formation and dissemination of political awareness through the dissemination of ideas, especially those related to various political issues. It also contributes through its various features to raising political awareness of different political issues and events at the local, regional, and global levels.

ﺗﺘﻨﺎول اﻟﺪراﺳﺔ ﻣﺪى ﺗﺄﺛﯿﺮ ﻣﻮاﻗﻊ اﻟﺘﻮاﺻﻞ اﻻﺟﺘﻤﺎﻋﻲ ﻓﻲ ﺗﻜﻮﯾﻦ اﻟﻮﻋﻲ اﻟﺴﯿﺎﺳﻲ ﻟﺪى ﻋﯿﻨﺔ ﻣﻦ اﻟﺸﺒﺎب اﻟﺠﺎﻣﻌﯿﯿﻦ ﻓﻲ دوﻟﺔ اﻹﻣﺎرات، اﻟﺘﻲ ﺗﺸﻤﻞ ﻣﻦ ھﻢ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﻘﺎﻋﺪ اﻟﺪراﺳﺔ واﻟﺨﺮﯾﺠﯿﻦ اﻟﺬي ﯾﺤﻤﻠﻮن اﻟﺸﮭﺎدة اﻟﺠﺎﻣﻌﯿﺔ. وﺗﮭﺪف إﻟﻰ اﻟﺘﻌﺮف ﻋﻠﻰ درﺟﺔ اﻟﻮﻋﻲ اﻟﺴﯿﺎﺳﻲ ﻟﺪى اﻟﺸﺒﺎب واﻟﺪواﻓﻊ اﻟﺘﻲ ﺗﺠﻌﻠﮭﻢ ﯾﻠﺠﺆون إﻟﻰ ﻣﻮاﻗﻊ اﻟﺘﻮاﺻﻞ اﻻﺟﺘﻤﺎﻋﻲ ﻛﺄﺳﻠﻮب ﻟﻠﺘﻌﺒﯿﺮ ﻋﻦ آراﺋﮭﻢ اﻟﺴﯿﺎﺳﯿﺔ دون ﻏﯿﺮه ﻣﻦ اﻷﺳﺎﻟﯿﺐ اﻟﻤﻌﺘﻤﺪة وﻣﺪى ﺗﺄﺛﯿﺮ ﻣﻌﺘﻘﺪات اﻟﺴﯿﺎﺳﯿﺔ اﻟﻤﻨﺘﺸﺮة ﻋﺒﺮ ﻣﻮاﻗﻊ اﻟﺘﻮاﺻﻞ اﻻﺟﺘﻤﺎﻋﻲ ﻓﻲ ﺗﻮﻋﯿﺔ اﻟﺸﺒﺎب اﻟﺠﺎﻣﻌﯿﯿﻦ وﺗﻮﺳﯿﻊ إدراﻛﮭﻢ اﻟﺴﯿﺎﺳﻲ وﺗﺸﻜﯿﻞ ﺛﻘﺎﻓﺘهم اﻟﺴﯿﺎﺳﯿﺔ.
ﯾﺼﻨﻒ اﻟﺒﺤﺚ اﻟﺤﺎﻟﻲ ﺿﻤﻦ ﻓﺮع ﻣﻦ ﻓﺮوع اﻟﻤﻨﮭﺞ اﻟﻮﺻﻔﻲ وھﻮ: اﻟﻤﻨﮭﺞ اﻟﻤﺴﺤﻲ، ﺣﯿﺚ اﺳﺘﺨﺪم اﻻﺳﺘﺒﯿﺎن ﻛﺄداة رﺋﯿﺴﺔ ﻓﻲ ﺟﻤﻊ اﻟﺒﯿﺎﻧﺎت ﻓﻲ ھﺬا اﻟﺒﺤﺚ وھﺬا اﻻﺳﺘﺒﯿﺎن ﺗﻢ إﻋﺪاده ﻋﻠﻰ ھﯿﺌﺔ اﺳﺘﺒﯿﺎن إﻟﻜﺘﺮوﻧﻲ وﺗﻮزﯾﻌﮫ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺷﻜﻞ راﺑﻂ ﻋﻠﻰ 100 طﺎﻟﺐ وﺧﺮﯾﺞ ﻣﻦ ﺟﺎﻣﻌﺔ اﻹﻣﺎرات اﻟﻌﺮﺑﯿﺔ اﻟﻤﺘﺤﺪة وﺟﺎﻣﻌﺔ اﻟﻌﯿﻦ وﺟﺎﻣﻌﺔ زاﯾﺪ، ﻣﻦ ﻣﺨﺘﻠﻒ التخصصات.
وﻗﺪ ﺧﻠﺼﺖ اﻟﺪراﺳﺔ اﻟﺤﺎﻟﯿﺔ إﻟﻰ ﻧﺘﺎﺋﺞ أﺑﺮزھﺎ أن وﺳﺎﺋﻞ اﻟﺘﻮاﺻﻞ اﻻﺟﺘﻤﺎﻋﻲ ﺗﻠﻌﺐ دورا ﻣﮭﻤﺎ ﻓﻲ ﺗﮭﯿﺌﺔ اﻟﻈﺮوف اﻟﺘﻲ ﺗﻘﻮد اﻟﻰ ﺗﺸﻜﯿﻞ وﻧﺸﺮ اﻟﻮﻋﻲ اﻟﺴﯿﺎﺳﻲ ﻣﻦ ﺧﻼل ﻧﺸﺮ اﻷﻓﻜﺎر، ﺧﺎﺻﺔ ﺗﻠﻚ اﻟﻤﺘﻌﻠﻘﺔ ﺑﻤﺨﺘﻠﻒ اﻟﻘﻀﺎﯾﺎ اﻟﺴﯿﺎﺳﯿﺔ، ﻛﻤﺎ ﺗﺴﺎھﻢ ﻣﻦ ﺧﻼل ﺧﺼﺎﺋﺼﮭﺎ اﻟﻤﺘﻌﺪدة ﻓﻲ رﻓﻊ ﻣﺴﺘﻮى اﻟﻮﻋﻲ اﻟﺴﯿﺎﺳﻲ ﺑﺎﻟﻘﻀﺎﯾﺎ واﻷﺣﺪاث اﻟﺴﯿﺎﺳﯿﺔ المختلفة، على المستوى المحلي ،الإقليمي ،العالمي.
