Abstract
Fractional calculus has attracted considerable attention in recent years because of its wide applicability to model a variety of linear and nonlinear physical phenomena across different scientific disciplines. In particular, fractional diferential equation systems have proven to be effective in describing processes with memory and hereditary properties. However, the solvability and analysis of such systems strongly depend on the type of fractional operator employed, especially in the presence of nonlocal fractional derivatives with singular kernels, which remain an open and challenging area of research.
The main objective of this thesis is to develop efficient analytical and numerical techniques for solving fractional integro-differential equations in the Caputo sense. Specifically, the research aims to construct the Laplace method as an analytical approach and the operational matrix method as a numerical tool to address the complexity of fractional problems.
The research is organized into several phases. First, the Laplace method is formulated for linear fractional integro-differential equations, and a complete theoretical analysis is conducted, including convergence properties. Next, the operational matrix method is developed as a numerical technique for solving nonlinear problems, with both theoretical foundations and numerical performance thoroughly investigated. The operational matrix method is employed to solve the one and two-dimensional non-homogeneous fractional integro-differential equations, while the Laplace technique for solving the homogeneous case with constant coefficients.
The proposed methods demonstrate high efficiency and accuracy in solving both linear fractional integro-differential equations. The laplace method provides reliable analytical solutions with proven convergence, while the operational matrix method yields accurate numerical approximations for complex nonhomogeneous problems. The effectiveness of the approaches developed is validated through several illustrative examples.
This research addresses the lack of effective analytical and numerical tools for solving fractional integro-diferential equations with singular kernels, providing both theoretical advancements and practical solution techniques for complex fractional models encountered in physics and biology.
