Views of the Tenth Grade Female Students about the Factors Affecting the Academic Achievement

Abstract

This study aims to identify the views of Tenth Grade female students in the schools of Fujairah Educational Zone about the factors affecting the academic achievement. The descriptive research method is employed to achieve the study objectives. A questionnaire of 21 questions is developed for investigating four aspect related to school administration roles:

I. The role of the large number of different materials on academic achievement,

II. The role of communicating between school principals and families.

III. The role of families in raising student achievement, and

IV. The role of the programme in raising the student achievement prepared by the school administration.

The pilot, validity and reliability tests of the questionnaire were carried out prior to distribution to the population sample drawn from secondary school of girls. The data was analyzed with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The view of Tenth Grade female students revealed that:

I. There is a big influence on the large number of different materials on academic achievement,

II. There is a positive role of communicating between school administration and families,

III. There is role of parents in raising students achievement, and

There is a role of the programmes that are prepared by the school administration in raising the student achievement.
